2010 Exhibitor of the Year - Sarah Sieffert

year's Southern Region Exhibitor of the Year is Sarah
Sieffert.Sarah is truly deserving of this recognition as an
active CFA exhibitor, key member to many show production efforts
and a strong advocate and participant in cat rescue efforts.Sarah is a friend to all and a loving mother and wife. She registered her cattery with CFA in 1972, showing and breeding Himalayans. She started exhibiting in the HHP class in 1974. Sarah shows not only HHPs but also Turkish Angoras and has acheived regional wins and been a key contributor to several TA DM's. While the CFA Central Office scores Kittens and Championship/Premiership cats, they do not score the HHPs. The region relies on volunteer effort to score these cats and we are fortunate in having Sarah Sieffert who has served as our volunteer HHP master scorer. As the Southern Region HHP scorer, she tracked 173 and scored 134 HHP’s during the 2009-2010 show season for regional awards. Sarah attends numerous shows in our region and often provides extra gifts for the HHP finalists. She is a valued member of several CFA clubs in Maryland and Virginia and has held numerous club offices and show committee positions. She is very active in her clubs, energetically donating hours of time and coordinating the most amazing raffle items and raffle set-ups to help with the shows. Her raffle management skills and the amount of money raised are legendary in our region. Sarah volunteers for cat rescue groups, and fosters rescue cats. She also works with feral cat colonies participating in the local Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) program. She has served as a key liaison between several show efforts and rescue groups forging win-win relationships where the rescue group staffs the spectator gate in exchange for adoption space. She has coordinated with show management on fund raising efforts resulting in thousands of dollars being given to worthy cat rescues. Sarah is an invaluable asset to CFA and the Southern Region. She embodies the spirit of our association and is very worthy of the 2010 CFA Southern Region Exhibitor of the Year award. Congratulations, Sarah, for this well-deserved award! |
