GC, BW, NW Crisp's Cecil Kipp

Cecil was born on May 11, 2009.  He was the last kitty to appear of seven kittens. It was our first litter we were equipped with all the tools and advice from many sources.  The birth began with six little kittens in various shades of red; the last one out was a silver tabby and white, Cecil.  They were a product of our first attempt at breeding.  Cecil‘s first unusual trait was that he walked backwards before he figured out how to walk forwards.  From the first he was his Jerry’s kitten and as Jerry says “If it’s possible for an animal to love a human, he loves me!”

Cecil’s first trip to a cat show was to National Capital, he won “Best Kitten”.

When it was announced we cried, because his name is a combination of my .parent’s names, we knew they would have been very proud of our kitty.  We were off and running!

Cecil’s first show as a Grand was in Birmingham AL, he was on his way to great success.  The folks at the show were keeping up with the numbers and in the fifth ring they shouted “One show Grand” we were stunned, we had heard the term but never see it happen.

Jerry still works full-time and sometimes our trips involved driving after work on Friday, returning after dark on Sunday, and going to work on Monday.  Our car which is a 2008 model has over 100,000 miles on it.

Cecil performed well in the rings; he would stand right up and show his level back then sit upright so the Judger could see how beautiful he was.  When he was offered a toy, by the Judge, he would not acknowledge it; he would turn his head toward the audience as if to say “They want me to play with that?”.  Cecil developed quite a following at the shows, people followed him from ring to ring to see what he would do next.  He got the reputation of working for the union so he didn’t work on the weekends.  He as referred to as the “Shop Steward”.

We have met so many wonderful people during our journey and saw soo many beautiful breeds of cats.  We appreciated to privilege of working with them and their cats.

Cecil is retired for now and anxious to become a daddy.
