Exhibitor of the Year
Teresa Keiger
CFA
Southern Region is proud to award Teresa Keiger the 2006 Exhibitor of
the Year award.
Teresa’s contributions to CFA and the Southern Region are many including
clerk, master clerk, master clerk instructor, club officer, show
secretary, Web designer, breed council member, Southern Region
Secretary, and member of several CFA committees. The hours she has
devoted to regional shows, regional awards programs, Websites, and
working on multiple CFA committees are too numerous to count.
Her
history with CFA started in the early nineties when she and her husband,
Rob Miller, purchased their first Russian Blue. Teresa and Rob became
avid breeders and exhibitors. They established Platina Luna cattery in
1996 which has produced two National Winners, six Regional Winners, and
two Distinguished Merit cats. Teresa has also lived with and shown a
Siamese, a couple of Japanese Bobtails, and Long hair Manx.
Teresa is an active member of Central Carolina Cat Fanciers, The Crafty
Cat, and The Russian Blue Fanciers. She has handled publicity and show
secretary duties for innumerable cat shows over the years. A commercial
artist, her talents are put to good use on the Russian Blue Breed
Council and Russian Blue Fancier Websites which she developed and
managed for over six years. These artistic talents have also been put
to use on her work on several CFA committees including the CFA New
Revenue, CFA Media and Publications, CFA Caitlin Awards, and CFA
Centennial Challenge Committee.
Teresa’s most important contribution to the Southern Region has been as
CFA Southern Region Secretary. Since 1998, she has been a major
contributor to the Southern Region awards show. Her duties have
included sending out awards letters, producing the regional awards
booklet, managing award photos, formatting awards presentations, helping
our trophy staff, assisting the banquet planners, award setup, and
overall coordination of our awards ceremonies. An excellent organizer,
she keeps everyone on their toes and makes sure nothing is missed.
During the past few years, she has also been instrumental in collecting
feedback on our programs, recommending improvements, and helping new
faces get involved in our Southern Region awards program.
Whether it’s
building a Website, organizing a bunch of volunteers, or holding a
master clerk school, Teresa has a great attitude and is always willing
to help those around her. She is a ready volunteer and can always be
depended upon to do a great job. A valuable asset to CFA, Teresa is
very deserving of the title of 2006 CFA Southern Region Exhibitor of the
Year. |
